LWsystems has released Benno MailArchiv version 2.1.5 today. The new release is available for download immediately. Customers with valid software maintenance can update to the new version free of charge.

Additionally, Benno MailArchiv is now available in the current version in the AppCenter of Univention Corporate Server (UCS), where installation is done simply by 'click & run' (further details here).

The Benno MailArchiv Release 2.1.5 includes some significant improvements to the WebApp and fixes various errors.

 Improvements / New Features in the WebApp

  • the English language version of the WebApp is now consistently localized
  • HTML emails are now displayed cleanly as HTML emails, just like in the mail client
  • The hit list remains in the scrolled state at the point where the user clicks on an email
    (previously, the list jumped back to the beginning when an email was clicked in the scrolled list)
  • When displaying an email from the hit list, only the email display area is reloaded (instead of the entire screen) (see also FS#185 below)
  • The input fields for the search parameters have been modified: the corners of all input fields are now rounded and the cursor is now clearly and visibly visible in each input field

Outlook for Benno MailArchiv 2.1.6

We will present a more detailed roadmap shortly. Selected aspects that will be implemented in the WebApp version 2.1.6 are:

  • fully responsive WebApp (currently usable on tablets, soon also on smartphones)
  • Display of CC recipients and the size of the respective displayed email
  • From / To search in both directions (so far, you can search for emails either to/from or from/to; both at the same time is not possible yet (= displaying the email ping-pong on a topic)
  • Authentication module for usernames with spaces
  • …
