Mail archiving is mandatory from 1.1.2017. The grace period is already ending soon.
With the deadline of 1.1.2017, the transition period for the entry into force of the GoBD ('Principles for the proper management and storage of books, records and documents in electronic form as well as for data access (GoBD)') ends. It replaces the mandatory rules from GoBS and GDPdU that have been in place for several years.
