LWsystems released Benno MailArchiv 2.4.0 a few days ago. The new release is available for download immediately. Customers with valid software maintenance can update to the new version free of charge.

Benno MailArchiv Release 2.4 brings several functional improvements and various bug fixes.

Besides various functional extensions (including the Benno MailArchiv WebApp) the most important innovation is the introduction of the new system container: Every Benno MailArchiv installation now manages an additional container designed for system‑specific matters. The system container will be used in future releases of Benno MailArchiv for various tasks. Thus the allocation of a valid license key in one of the upcoming versions of Benno MailArchiv will no longer require a license file. License keys will then be replaced by a specific email containing the license key. This email will be automatically archived in the system container and used there as proof of a valid license.
The system container will also be used in the future for further compliance functionalities. For example, the installation of Benno MailArchiv updates will then be automatically logged in the system container. Manual notes on the performed update are therefore “auto-documented” and do not have to be recorded manually in the GoBD procedural documentation. Relevant persons (auditors, reviewers, etc.) have read‑only access to the system container.

The Benno MailArchiv Plugin für the Kopano DeskApp and WebApp (Details about the Kopano plugin see here) is now available as an installable package für Debian GNU/Linux and Ubuntu.
