LWsystems has released Benno MailArchiv version 2.2.0 today. The new release is available for download immediately. Customers with valid software maintenance can update to the new version free of charge.

The Benno MailArchiv Release 2.2.0 essentially includes the new fully responsive WebApp 2, brings the new “benno-tool” and fixes various minor bugs.

General Features

  • Benno MailArchiv is now released for
  • Important new system requirement:
    • Benno MailArchiv requires Java 7 (e.g. OpenJDK 7) from version 2.2.0 onwards!
  • New additional benno package: benno-tool
    • The benno-tool package includes the new tool benno-tool, which includes the following functions in version 2.2.0 (further details in the Benno MailArchiv Wiki):
      • backup: Lists all emails since the last backup call (they können then e.g. be combined with tar for für tägl. backups etc.)
      • info: Provides information about the current installation (especially for support requests)
      • reindex: Reindexes individual emails, entire boxes, etc.
      • verify: Verifies the consistency of the entire archive regarding possible manipulations

 Improvements / New Features in the WebApp

  • The new WebApp 2:
    • fully responsive design (Benno MailArchiv is therefore immediately usable on all devices incl. smartphones!)
    • more modern, clearer and slimmer GUI design
    • Multilingualism (currently available: English, Italian, Polish and Westphalian Low German)
    • New „Conversation Search“: Searches mails „to recipient“ and „from sender“ simultaneously, so that the whole mail thread (“Ping Pong”) is displayed
    • Permalink: A permanently valid link to the respective mail in the archive is generated
    • WebApp 2 is the technical foundation for future WebApp functionalities

Benno MailArchiv Plugin for Zarafa Kopano Groupware WebApp

The plugin for Kopano WebApp is already in the quality assurance phase and will be finalized and released in the shortest possible time. We will inform you at this point as soon as the plugin is released.
