Access to the emails securely archived in Benno MailArchiv is standardly secured with a username and password. Through the user administration with the permissions stored there, Benno MailArchiv controls what the user can find and see in the archive.

The access security to the archived emails can be significantly increased using two-factor authentication (2FA).

With privacyIDEA from our cooperation partner NetKnights, any Benno MailArchiv installation can now be easily extended to include 2FA. Access to the archive is thus no longer dependent solely on "knowledge" (username and password), but also on the factor of "possession", namely the possession of the security medium that represents the second authentication factor and without which a login is blocked.
